"Be-ready" Evacuation notice has been issued for MP97 Fire near Canyonville. Fire now over 80 acres.

In conjunction with the Douglas Forest Protective Association the Sheriff's Office has issued a Level 1 "Be Ready" evacuation notice for the MP 97 Fire outside of Canyonville for residents living in the 100-300 block of Ritchie Road. Level 1 or "Be Ready" means: • Be ready for the potential to evacuate • Have a "go kit" ready • Have an evacuation plan for your family and pets • Be Firewise and create a defensible space The MP97 fire is now estimated to be at over 80 acres, which is significantly larger than it was earlier today.
