Fire Crews Respond to 1/2 Acre Fire Off North Bank Road Near Glide
1:47 AM · Jul 9, 2024Today, July 8, 2024, at approximately 3:48 pm crews from Glide Rural Fire Protection District, Central Douglas Fire & Rescue, and Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA) responded to an estimated 1/2 acre natural cover fire near the 200 block of Single Tree Lane in Glide, OR. (Roseburg) Upon arrival, firefighters found a burning power pole and a slow-moving fire in nearby grass and hay. The forward spread of the fire was quickly knocked down. Crews from the power company soon after arrived and shut off power to the area, allowing firefighters to mop up safely. As of 5:30 PM, crews have completed 40% of mop-up and will remain on scene until the area is cleared of heat, and smoke and transferred into patrol status. The cause of this fire is under investigation. This will be the only announcement for this fire. Via DFPA
