Roseburg High Track and Field Season Update 2025
The Roseburg High School track and field season is going great so far! “This is by far one of the kindest groups of people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Kindness seems to be the default for the athletes on this team. I also truly appreciate how hard they work and the effort they put in each and every day," said Head Coach Nathan Eckman. The team continues to build momentum through the season, with a focus not just on competition but also on creating a positive environment that strengthens both the athletes and the program. Last Saturday’s Twilight Invitational at RHS was a big success! "The competition was fierce, and athletes from Roseburg had numerous personal records and season bests! It was truly exciting to see student athletes from all over our great state descend on Finlay Field," said Eckman. "We saw two meet records fall! Eric Peterson of North Eugene had held the Twilight and Finlay Field record in the 3K since 1983 with a time of 8:37. Dylan Fiegener of Corvallis broke both records with an impressive 8:32.32! His brother, Cole Fiegener, also surpassed the previous mark." "In the pole vault, Addison Kleinke of Churchill broke her own Finlay Field and Twilight Meet record with an incredible clearance of 13'0". We also had an incredible crew of volunteers—from our own team, the community, and the school district," said Eckman. Reflecting on the impact of the season so far, Eckman added that while the home meets require a great deal of effort, they’re incredibly valuable for both the program and the community, becoming “a true celebration of youth.” He also shared how much he values the culture developing within the team: “I love how our athletes support and cheer for one another, forming strong bonds and meaningful new friendships.” The next RHS track and field meet is today at Finlay Field vs Grants Pass HS at 3pm (4-16-2025).
