The Sutherlin volleyball team swept Brookings-Harbor Tuesday night to tie Cascade Christian for the Far West League championship.

Set scores were 25-18, 25-16, 25-18. Sutherlin (16-9, 8-2) won the tiebreaker with Cascade Christian (13-6, 8-2) and will host the league tournament this Saturday as the #1 seed. South Umpqua (16-6, 6-4) who finished third will play Cascade Christian at 5 p.m. at Sutherlin High and the winner will play the Bulldogs at 7 p.m. Alyssa Fox had two aces, 15 kills, two blocks and eight digs for the Bulldogs. Makayla Murphy added five aces, four kills, 16 assists and six digs. Tianna Murphy had three aces and 16 assists. Kaybie Rutledge had two aces, four kills and eight digs. “I am very proud of these girls for coming together and earning Sutherlin’s first volleyball league title.” Sutherlin coach Kathy Rice said.
