Yesterday Anne from Umpqua Wildlife Rescue and Abraham took the injured duck down to Dr Tammy Eichman in Myrtle Creek at Countryside Veterinary Service.

There was more fishing line embedded in it's foot that was removed yesterday. The duck is on antibiotics and has it's foot all wrapped up now and will be seen again on Saturday. It might lose a toe but hopefully the leg can be saved. It's going to take several months to know for sure and the Duck will likely be rehabilitated into the winter at the very least before it will be released. This is just another example of what the awesome people at Umpqua Wildlife Rescue in conjunction with local vets do to help injured wildlife in our area. 🤙
